Month 14 - What can the child do in the 14th month of its life?
Each toddler develops at their own pace. However, in the 14th month of its life, a child can very frequently:
- assume a vertical position, that is, get up and sit down independently;
- sit down from a standing position;
- lean down for an item that interests them;
- walk independently or with assistance;
- run (only when it walks independently and feels secure with it);
- master its behaviour and change it consciously;
- perform simple commands;
- climb down backwards from a sofa;
- climb up onto a sofa or on stairs;
- observe and mimic other children and members of its household;
- mimic simple gestures;
- say names of its favourite toys, e.g., “doll”.
