Month 15 - What can the child do in the 15th month of its life?
The 15th month is a time for another growth spurt. With it, the child starts to consciously experiment with its behaviour.
- It hides toys on purpose, protests, or goes away from its parents. It does all these things to learn the borders and possible consequences of crossing them.
- In the 15th month, a child should already have all upper and bottom incisors. At this age, the first premolars may also erupt. Teething can be asymptomatic, or be associated with unpleasant ailments (which frequently resemble an infection). In case of doubt, it is better to consult a doctor. Remember to care for child’s teeth. They should be brushed twice a day with a special paste for children. Do not give your child sweet snacks. This way, you prevent caries.
- A 15-month-old child may cause pain to other people, by hitting or pinching them, or pulling their hair. It is not related to aggression or dislike, but only to lack of awareness about feelings of other people. In such situations, remember to explain to the child that what it did was wrong.
- If your 15-month-old child can sleep all night without waking up for eating, you can easily discontinue night feedings. However, you should remember that you should not give it a copious supper instead.
